Abstract
In recent years libraries have become more important in American colleges. They influence educational development, plans, programs, teaching and research. However, the value of the library in American higher education still remains underestimated. This article focuses on the ways American college libraries have responded to the growing size, diversity, and complexity of the institutions they serve.
