Abstract
According to Peter Drucker, “A decision is a judgement. It is a choice between alternatives.” At the same time, one of the most commonly accepted definitions states that leadership is the process of making things happen. However, the processes of decision making and leadership are too time­consuming and beyond the competency of many library administrators. This article deals with the intersection of these two areas of the American library and their influence on its management.
