摘要
本文就地緣政治與地緣經濟提示幾項抽象的原理。這些原理不單提供一個理論架構，可以解釋不同時空下社會間的關係，而且可以幫助亞洲的重要國家，討論雙邊的關係。地緣政治方面的原理考察一些重大政治過程的先決條件：權力的動員與運用，國土的擴張，國家的大小，與國家的崩解。地緣經濟方面的原理則集中在兩種國家的形成條件：外依性高的國家與自由市場主導的國家。最後，本文特別以中華人民共和國與中華民國為例，分析地緣政治與地緣經濟的互動。

Abstract
Some abstract theoretical principles on geo-politics and geo­economics are offered as a general theoretical scheme for interpreting the nature of relations among societies in different places and historical contexts, but in particular, they are intended to facilitate policy discussions about the nature of relations among societies whose economies and political systems have effects on world system dynamics in Asia. The theoretical principles on geo­ politics examine the general conditions leading to the mobilization of power, the use of coercive and administrative power in territorial expansion, the likelihood of success in territorial expansion, the size of geo-political empires, and the collapse of empires. The theoretical principles on geo-economics address the formation of two types of empires, those based upon dependence and those created by free-market dynamics. In closing, the relations between geo-political and geo-economic forces are examined, particularly with respect to the ROC and PRC.
