摘要
本文旨在處理一個情緒教育的基礎問題——情緒教育的可能性。為了回答這個問題,作者從哲學的途徑出發,在論文的第一大部分中回溯並比較了近代的主要情緒理論,藉以呈顯典型情緒的核心內涵。換言之,除了身體變化的知覺或感受、行為反應的模式或傾向、社會文化的建構之外,人類情緒更根本的特質在於所內含的意向性 (intentionality)。此外,感受主體的價值觀、感受性等會融入或涉入在情緒的意向性之中,而且,這種情緒主體的意向性會形成心靈的深層結構或感受的預備模式,遂而影響個人如何詮釋情境或產生何種即發性 (occurrent) 情緒。接著,作者在第二大部分論述情緒教育的可能性。也就是說,因為個人生發何種情緒和他/她的價值系統、心靈的開放性或感受性、感受的預備狀態或氣質性 (dispositional) 情緒、情緒本身的階層結構等之間內在地具有密不可分的關聯,而且,要改善這些產生情緒的內在理由是可能的,因此,有可能改善或教育情緒。考慮了這些生發情緒的內在理由,作者在本文最後針對情緒教育提出一些建議。
Abstract
This study is aimed at answering the question as to whether or not emotions can be educated. In the first section, the author looks back upon and compares among some past theories of emotions in order to formulate an account of the essential features of standard emotions. The author argues that apart from sensations or perceptions of bodily changes, disposition or patterns of behavioural reactions, and the construction of cultures, it is in the intentionality inherent in emotions that the even more central characteristic of emotions actually lies.
In the second section, the author addresses the question of whether it is possible to educate emotions. The author argues that the agent’s system of values, sensitivity of mind, preparatory state of feeling or dispositional emotions, hierarchical structure of emotions, etc. are intrinsically involved in his/her emotions. And, it is likely that these aforementioned emotion-producing components can be improved. As a result, except the exceptional cases in which, for instance, there exists either hereditary irreversibility or changes of emotions can be made only through educationally irrelevant means, the education of emotions is possible. The author concludes this study with some suggestions regarding the education of emotions.
